Happy Holidays, Friends!! This month our little group decided to just do a “Festive 5 Minutes” instead of our usual 30 minutes, as it’s a busy time of year and a lot of us were traveling.
I spent Christmas with my family in Nashville, where it was 74 degrees on Christmas Eve!! (Very very unusual!) It was reminiscent of my childhood in Florida, where my mom would insist we all wear Christmas sweaters and put a real fire on in the fireplace, yet our a/c would be cranked up and we sometimes went for a dip in the swimming pool after opening presents 😉
Although my parents have moved to a few different houses since our childhood home, my mom has kept most of our cherished Christmas decorations, and my sister and I love seeing them each year. She and my dad also give us a new Annalee decoration each year, so we can build our own collections. We have dozens of iPhone photos of our week together, hanging out in the backyard drinking cocktails, playing board games, visiting honky tonks in downtown Nashville, cooking together, wrapping (and unwrapping!) presents, and playing with the dogs. But for my “Festive 5” this month, I decided to photograph some of my favorite Christmas decorations at my parents’ home. Enjoy!
Psst! Now that you’ve seen my favorite family Christmas decorations, go check out Julia Forsman’s Festive 5 in Europe!
Yay I am glad to see you. What beautiful images. The top two remind me of the Santa and Mrs Claus that Richards mom made for me one year. I love the Santa on the mantelpiece as well. Great shots Colleen.
