Deb and I had emailed back and forth for a few weeks before I took the train from NYC to NJ for our Red Thread Session, and I had a feeling I would just love her family. Pulling up to their beautiful home, Mia and Ceci were waiting for me in the front yard, excited to meet me and show off the colorful outfits they picked out for their photo shoot. These two sisters, a year apart in age but only “family” for a handful of months at that point, were like two peas in a pod. During our session, I was once again struck by how quickly familial bonds can form and love can take root. Last fall, Ceci was living in Ghana, and this spring, she is playing at the local park with her mom, dad, and little sister, laughing and zooming around on her scooter. At one point, she even borrowed her mom’s iPhone to ask “Siri” a question about the current temperature back in Ghana, to compare it to how chilly it was in New Jersey I just adore this family and wish nothing but the best for them!
