Last month I decided to try out my very first “travel photo shoot series” down in Tampa, Florida.  I grew up in Tampa, and I try to get back at least once a year to visit old friends and family.  I’d had a few friends ask if I’d ever consider booking photo shoots there, so I whipped up a post for FB and asked if anyone was seriously interested.  BAM!  I was happily surprised when my inbox filled up pretty quickly with requests, and I scheduled 5 sessions for one weekend.  It was a crazy busy (but super fun) weekend down in Florida; not one session got rained out (despite the weatherman predicting otherwise), and I had a wonderful mix of photographing old friends, classmates, friends of my old friends, and even a photographer’s family!

Lucas + Benji were the first up, and I can’t imagine two more adorable cousins!!  These boys act like brothers, and my heart melted when I realized how much they love each other.  Lucas is so sweet and protective of little Benji, and Benji looks at Lucas with stars in his eyes!  Their moms brought an awesome red wagon, which proved to be a perfect prop for our morning session.  As Benji’s 1st birthday was quickly approaching, we also did a “smash cake,” with one of the most beautiful little blue cakes ever!  With Lucas on the sidelines happily eating a cupcake, Benji was a bit unsure of what he was supposed to do with his very own cake.  He soon figured it out and tore into it; a great dress rehearsal for his actual 1st birthday a few weeks later 😉

The boys’ moms scheduled their session so they could surprise the “abuelos” with the photos of their sweet boys.  What a fun reason for family photos!  I’m so glad we were able to meet up at the park, Desiree + Vanessa!!
