I absolutely love that the “kids” from the Dubee Family got together and hired me to photograph them along with their parents. So much of my business is photographing young families, but I KNOW there are even more families who haven’t gotten together for professional portraits in years!
Their Olan Mills framed portraits from when they were kids in the 80s and 90s are still hanging in their parents’ home, and while they may snap a few photos on their iPhones when they get together, hardly any of them end up printed and framed.
Every stage of our lives is important and should be documented! I personally set up a tripod at least once a year and make sure to photograph my family together (with me included!) to make sure my mom and dad have updated portraits for their walls.
Ok I’ll get off my soap box and tell you how fun the Dubee Family was during our session together! We began our session at the beautiful campus of University of Tampa, right along the waterfront. Then we headed over to Bayshore Boulevard, that iconic long sidewalk with the gorgeous views. I loved photographing this awesome family’s interactions, with plenty of laughter and smiles!
Maureen (the mom!) had this to say about her time with me: “Working with Colleen was a dream! Our adult children wanted us to do a photo shoot and we were all a bit hesitant. After only a few minutes, Colleen put us all at ease. It was a really fun afternoon! Colleen is such a gifted photographer and a wonderful person. We will treasure our photos for many years to come!”
