A few weeks ago I was very fortunate to fly up to Nova Scotia for a family visit. I have an extremely large family, with cousins pretty much all over the place, but Cape Breton is considered “home” for all of us, as my grandparents are from there.
My amazing cousin, MaryLeigh, picked me up from the airport in Halifax and suggested we stay the night before making the four hour trek up to Cape Breton Island. We had a great time sloshing through Halifax in the rain, and ended up making a visit to her brother (my cousin) Iain’s house in the city. He was unfortunately out of town 🙁 but his lovely new wife, Angela was at home with their adorable little one, Merrick! We had an impromptu photo session in their living room, and Merrick was quite the ham! This 2 year old LOVED my camera, and giggled each time he saw a new photo of himself on my LCD screen. I especially loved when he modeled his Halloween costume (a shark) for me, complete with the “growly” sounds a shark makes 😉
Merrick and Angela, it was SO great to finally meet you in Halifax! I hope to see you again soon, either there or in NYC!
