I moved to New York City when I was 22 years old, fresh out of college with an internship at Christie’s. I can’t tell you why… I think I just always knew I would live in NYC and it just seemed the next natural step in my life. One of my favorite things to do when I first moved here was exploring all the amazing galleries and museums scattered all over the city. I spent my weekends wandering in and out of them, soaking in all the amazing and kooky and wonderful art I could. Then life got busy and I rarely was able to spend an entire weekend afternoon in my little artsy world. I live amazingly close to the best museum in the world, the Met, which has allowed me to at least pop in to immerse myself fairly often. This month, I found myself with an entire weekend with no plans and no work, so I happily spent an afternoon strolling in and out of some awesome (and some not so awesome) galleries in Chelsea! It was so fun and relaxing — I found some new artists I want to follow, and reconnected with my young and curious self. I took these photos during about a half hour period wandering up and down W24th Street…

Wow – like Karen says – I want to walk around New York with you 🙂 My favorite is the black and white near the bottom. Great post. Hopefully you are down in Florida and not freezing up there this week. Although I think it is cold down here as well.
