You all know by now that one of my favorite things about living in New York City is the access to all of the amazing museums and galleries here! One of my favorite artists, David Hockney, recently had an exhibition open at the Met, which I have been anxiously awaiting for months! I recently went to walk through it, despite being opening week and all the crowds it attracted. I took a few snaps with my iPhone to share with you all, and will make sure to go back in a few weeks once the crowds are gone and I’ll have the space to truly appreciate his gorgeous paintings and collages. Let me know what you think of this British artist’s colorful and happy works of his time in southern California!
On my walk through the museum to get to the Hockney exhibit, I passed this golden statue of a lady sleeping. As it was late afternoon and I hadn’t yet had my afternoon tea, I chuckled to myself thinking, “it’d be nice to take a nap like that in the middle of the museum.” In the very next gallery I walked through, what did I see? A real life visitor taking a quick snooze on a bench! Hah!
Yay! David Hockney at the Met!
Some close ups of his portraits…
Now that you’ve finished strolling through Hockney’s exhibit at the Met, please click here to check out my lovely friend, Hayley Hay’s, 30 minutes in Switzerland! See you next month!

Where do I begin, Colleen? I love all of these!! And, I wish so much I could be up North again to go and see this exhibit. He is an amazing artist. I Iove how you captured pieces of his work and the connection to the viewers as well – like the lady wearing the pink jacket viewing a painting and the lady with the brown sweater viewing a painting. The golden lady sleeping juxtaposed with sleeping visitor — brilliant!!
I would love to see this! Maybe over the holidays- thanks for sharing!
Colleen these are awesome. I love visiting the museum and I love what you have managed to capture here. I love the architectural view of the windows. That is stunning. I always enjoy visiting with you via your blog.
These are great Colleen! What fabulous images and they way you captured the admirers is wonderful!
