“no sleep till brooklyn”

Mar 5, 2013

Did you know I majored in Art History in college?  I was actually the first Art History major AT my college, thanks in large part to this lovely lady, Amy.  Amy was my student advisor in college as well as one of my favorite professors 🙂  And I also babysat her 2 adorable boys all 4 years!  (The oldest is in film school at NYU — makes me feel OLD).

Amy and Fred recently decided to get married after being together for 10 years!  They sure know how to keep the spark going!  I had the awesome opportunity to take their engagement photos while Amy was in the city interviewing for a new job at a university in NYC!  (spoiler alert: she got the job, and they are moving to Brooklyn this summer!)

I love that Amy and Fred chose to be photographed at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.  It was a gorgeous backdrop, of course, but the two of them really relaxed while we were there and enjoyed themselves!  And it was REALLY a treat when we got to meet El Anatsui while wandering through his exhibit “Gravity and Grace.”  It was a total and happy coincidence and really made the day extra special.  (Especially because Amy actually taught me about El Anatsui in the course Art and Architecture of Western Africa!)
