After spending a few weeks in England, I flew to a town in the southern part of The Netherlands called Eindhoven. It is so close to the southern border, that one day I accidentally drove 5 minutes in the wrong direction and ended up in Belgium!
This part of the country is so charming, with lots of cute towns, horse farms, and wide blue skies. I spent one afternoon at the lovely Vincentre in Nuenen (read more about this cute museum in my post here). Another day, I drove to a tiny town by Rotterdam called Kinderdik, where I rented a bike and rode past almost twenty windmills from the 18th century! It was such a great experience! I even got to tour the inside of one of the old windmills, and I have to admit, was a bit creeped out by the little girl mannequin 😉 The last few days I spent in Amsterdam, boating down the many canals, wandering the tiny alleyways, and popping into a few museums. Now I have to be honest, this trip to Amsterdam was much less “hazy” than the previous trip I took there with college friends when I was 19 years old! haha. Does this mean I’m a grown up now?
I had a wonderful 2 weeks in The Netherlands, but it was so good to come home!
