instagram {december 2013}

December was the most amazing month!!!!!  Looking at my photos I’m sure you can guess why 😉

I started the month off in NYC again:  had a fun Sunday adventure with my friend Allison / facetimed with my sister’s new puppy, Bill Murray / spotted Santa at the Plaza / love clever bar signs / photographed Jamie’s family from LiveLoveLens / got to meet Brandon Stanton (the photographer behind Humans of New York) at my local Barnes and Noble / attempted to become a multi-millionaire / ran into a man carrying a hundred balloons in the East Village / was thoroughly cheered by all the great Christmas decorations with a dusting of snow / started to receive Christmas cards / pondered if I’m saying my name correctly, as no one at Starbucks seems to ever get it right / was awestruck by a glorious sunset in Manhattan / received a rental lens bigger than me for my adventure

And then I boarded a plan for AFRICA!!!:  checked 14 bags for 8 people / had a super awesome flight over to Johannesburg in 1st class 😉

Then we flew to Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge in NE South Africa:  we rode around in open-air Jeeps / got up close and personal with baby elephants / casually strolled around with leopards / made friends with a giant bull elephant / witnessed the most beautiful giraffes / watched a pride of lions snoozing and then stalked around with them after they woke up / had Christmas dinner in a private wine cellar / had a staring contest with a male lion

Flew over to Zimbabwe:  watched the most amazingly beautiful sunrises ever from the balcony of my villa at Singita Pamushana / was shocked by the enormous thousand year old Baobab trees / finally got to sing out loud “I bless the rains down in Aaaaaafricaaaaa” / went on an elephant parade ride / and took a hell of a lot of photographs!
