Surprise Proposal: NYC Central Park

I have a confession to make.  I LOVE being part of a secret!  So when Brett (with the help of his lovely sister Kelse) contacted me asking if I can help document his proposal to his girlfriend on vacation in Central Park — and she was completely unaware of this plan — I immediately said yes and helped Brett plan out the perfect afternoon proposal!

It all went perfectly to plan.  Brett and Carrie strolled past me along the Mall/Promenade in the middle of the park, and the look on Carrie’s face when he bent down on one knee was absolutely priceless!  Of course she said yes, and then he told her to smile for the camera and her already surprised face became even more shocked when she realized I was there to capture it all with my camera!  I was so happy to congratulate the two of them — a lovely couple from Alabama who met almost 1 year ago when seated next to each other on an airplane — and let Carrie know that Brett hired me to take not only the proposal photos but some engagement photos as well!

We walked around the park a bit, taking a break for Carrie and Brett to each call their parents and share their good news.  Carrie couldn’t stop staring at her gorgeous ring (and her handsome fiance, too!) and her smile was so genuine and beautiful.  Brett was thrilled his plan went off without a hitch and was relishing walking around the park with his beautiful fiancee.  It was so wonderful to see two people so blissfully happy and in the moment — I was so honored to be a part of their special day, and I wish them a life filled with love and happiness always!
