“you are the sunshine of my life”

I just love taking photos of happy people!  It makes me so ridiculously happy to be able to capture beautiful moments for my clients, that most days I honestly don’t think of it as a “work” but rather something I’m lucky to get paid to do.  Trisha and John are such a wonderful couple who exude a serene joyfulness every time I see them, so I was crazy excited to meet their new little girl, Klea, and photograph this awesome little family!  We started our shoot at their home, a super cozy apartment in the West Village, where John has lived for 33 years.  I told John that’s exactly how old I am, and asked him if he ever dreamed of living in his place for that long (New Yorkers have a tendency to move every so often), and eventually having a family there (fun fact:  Baby Klea was even born in this apartment!).  John said he had no idea what the future held for him when he moved in back in 1981, but after spending an afternoon with the 3 of them in their home and walking around their neighborhood, I know for sure that it was all meant to be!

I love that Trisha and John posed with this sweet little red dress for Baby Klea at their maternity session this past summer, and had Klea wear it for their most recent photo shoot 🙂
